The process of finding, researching, and returning two wedding albums from 1945 to the couple's son. I was also able to return lots of loose photographs to him, as the large lot I purchased from an antique store turned out to be mostly from the same source!

Eva Idella Haskins was born in 1856 to parents Emeline Daniels and Albert Haskins. They lived in Adams, Massachusetts, where her ancestors were deeply rooted. Her father was a well-respected stone mason responsible for building multiple dams in the area. Eva had six siblings. She graduated from Drury High School in 1875. Eva became a teacher and eventually a principal in multiple schools. She was widely respected as an educator. After more than 50 years teaching, she retired in 1925. She continued tutoring a group of students privately after that. Eva did not marry or have children. Later in life, she lived with her brother Herbert and his family in North Adams. Eva passed away in 1929 at the age of 73. She is buried at Southview Cemetery in North Adams, Massachusetts.
When she passed away in 1929, a lengthy and thoughtful obituary was written detailing all of her accomplishments. According to the author “As a teacher, she had few equals”
No contact has been made with descendants as of yet.

Louise Bowker Valentine Howes lived from 1880-1945. She was born in Roxbury MA on September 28, 1880 to Charles Felton and Florence Drake Bowker. Her grandfather Francis S. Drake was a historian and antiquarian. She went to school at Boston Girls Latin School. This photo was her graduation photo taken in 1898. According to a descendant, she was set to attend Smith College but switched to Bridgewater Normal School when her father suddenly passed away. After college, she taught school in St. Johnsbury Vermont, Andover Massachusetts, and Brockton Massachusetts. At Bridgewater Normal School, she met William Grant Howes. They were married in October of 1906. Together, they had three children: Ruth, Charles, and William. She passed away in 1945 at the age of 65. Patrick learned that the original version of this photo is held in a gold frame at a relative’s house.
I spoke with a descendant of Louise's, and offered him the photo. Since he already had a copy (in better condition than this one) he did not wish to have the photo sent to him.
